Basic Beginners Computer Training Knowledge: In today’s free basic computer skills lesson, we’ll be studying how to clear Browser Cache and the steps to help you delete your browser Cache yourself. Lot’s of people that are still struggling with their computer basics hardly know the importance of clearing browser Cache periodically. But if I may ask, do you know how to clear your cache?

I hope you’re aware that when you use a web browser to view web pages on the internet, these files are automatically saved on your computer? These are commonly known as browser cache or temporary internet files.

Every browser use’s a different location on your personal computer to save its ‘cache’, and each browser has its own way of clearing this cache. If these aren’t cleaned out on a regular basis, they can consume a large amount of space on your personal computer!

In our beginners basic computer skills tutorials today, I’ll show you a simple step by step method to delete Browser Cache. Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera are the 3 we’ll be using for this lesson. I don’t know which browser you are using, but most likely, you must be using any of the three I’ll be discoursing here with you. They are the most common ones in the market today. So let’s continue with our basic computer training lesson; shall we?

How To Clear Your Browser Cache: If you are using Internet Explorer:

The first step in clearing the cache/temporary internet files for Internet Explorer is to open a browser window, and select ‘Tools’ from the top menu and then select ‘Internet Options’ (that should be the last item you’ll see there).

Once this window loads up on your computer, we are looking for the ‘Delete Files’ button. Can you see it?  Click this button then tick the box ‘Delete all offline content’, then click Ok. This can take a while to process if there are a lot of files to delete. Once done, click ‘Ok’ and close the control panel window.

How To Clear Browser Cache: If you are using Firefox:

Cleaning your Firefox cache is similar to the other browsers too. First, you just open a Firefox browser window, and click ‘Tools’ from the top menu. Have you located it? Then go down to Options’. When the window has opened click on the Privacy icon (it should be on the left). device.

On the right hand screen, you will have a button down the bottom that says ‘Clear’, which is to the right of the word ‘Cache’ (can you find it?). Click this button to clear the Firefox cache. Once done, click Ok and close the browser window. Have you also seen how easy it is too? Right! How To Clear Browser Cache: If you are using Opera:

To delete browser Cache in Opera, simply open the browser then select ‘Tools’ from the top menu, and go down to ‘Preferences’. On the left hand side of the preferences screen, click the label ‘History and Cache’. Have you located it already?

On the right side of the window you will have a button that says ‘Empty now’, select this button. If you have a lot of files in the cache, this can take a while to process. Once done, click ‘Ok’ then close the browser window. It’s just as simple as that.
